Minister's Moment

Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe that it is already 2026. As I reflect on the past year, I am deeply grateful for the meaningful and faithful ministry we shared in 2025. This year marked a long-awaited FULL return to our building, allowing us to re-imagine how our space can serve both the church and the wider community. It has been a joy to see that vision take shape — and it is clear that the Holy Spirit is very much at work among us.
Our ministry has reached far beyond our walls. From our continued work with veterans at Thomson-Hood, to our support of students in Frankfort schools; from generous collections supporting those who provide essential services to people in need, to our outreach through Capital Pride and hosting “A Christmas Carol” — Bridgeport has been active, present, and engaged. We have also seen growing participation in Christian Education. And even more projects are on the horizon!
Now, as we step into 2026, a new year filled with new possibilities, I trust that God will continue to lead us into growth in ways we may not yet imagine. As we reflected during Advent, our call is to listen for God’s voice, to be willing to say “yes,” and to move forward in faith — even when we feel afraid. In those moments, we must INSIST on hope and hold fast to the reminder to “be not afraid.”
Bridgeport is a remarkable church, and it is truly a blessing to serve as your pastor. Thank you for your faithfulness, your perseverance, and your deep love for God’s kingdom. May we continue to grow stronger in faith and ever more committed to loving our community and our world.
With gratitude and love,
Ann
