Masks will be required, and we ask that everyone continue to observe social distancing.
Services can be viewed live on our Facebook page and our YouTube channel Sundays at 11 am.
Our Sunday morning worship service is the centerpiece of our community here at Bridgeport Christian Church. A typical Sunday service will include a time of sharing the joys and concerns of our members, congregational singing, prayers, a musical offering (often led by our Chancel Choir), and a sermon. Each Sunday, we remember the Lord's Supper by sharing in a Communion service that is open to all believers. This practice of serving open communion is a hallmark of our denomination, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Children Worship and Wonder is targeted for ages 4 through 1st grade. We explore sacred stories, liturgical stories, parables, and other important lessons from the Bible through interactive storytelling done by trained storytellers. Our goal is to “help our young children worship in a special place apart from the worshipping congregation so they become able to worship meaningfully with the congregation.”
Children Worship and Wonder story videos can be viewed on our YouTube channel on Wednesdays. Children that are not in the nursery will begin the worship service in the sanctuary. Towards the beginning of the service, we will have a time when all children come to the front and receive a children’s blessing. After the blessing, the children will be escorted to either the Children Worship and Wonder worship space or the Following Jesus worship space. At the end of worship, parents/guardians are asked to pick up children from the Children Worship and Wonder worship space.

The Following Jesus class is targeted for children starting at 2nd grade through the completion of 5th grade. This class follows the same philosophies as the Children Worship and Wonder class but with the intent to deepen the children’s understanding of Jesus and his teachings. The goal is still the same; preparing the children for Christian discipleship by “teaching how to worship God instead of just teaching about worship.”
All children who are not in the nursery will start the worship service in the sanctuary. Towards the beginning of the service, we will have a time when all children come to the front and receive a children’s blessing. After the children’s blessing, the children will be escorted to the Following Jesus worship space. Children in the Following Jesus worship space will be brought back to the sanctuary at the beginning of communion and will worship in the sanctuary through the end of the service. Parents/guardians are asked to pick up their child(ren) from the front of the sanctuary at the end of worship.
