Elders are nominated and approved by the congregation with input from the current group of standing elders. At BCC, our elders have the following duties (as outlined in our bylaws):

• An elder is to be a model of faithful membership.
• An elder is to be active in making disciples both of unbelievers and believers.
• Elders shall assist the pastor with communion and baptisms.
• Elders shall assist the pastor in visiting the sick, shut-ins, visitors, etc.
• Elders provide additional support of the pastor and attention to the spiritual needs of congregational members
