Elders are nominated and approved by the congregation with input from the current group of standing elders. At BCC, our elders have the following duties (as outlined in our bylaws):
An elder is to be a model of faithful membership.
An elder is to be active in making disciples both of unbelievers and believers.
Elders shall assist the pastor with communion and baptisms.
Elders shall assist the pastor in visiting the sick, shut-ins, visitors, etc.
Elders provide additional support of the pastor and attention to the spiritual needs of congregational members
